The camera angle doesn’t move along with Rygar, so depending on where he is standing, you will get the same view until he moves into another pre-designated viewing area. There is, however, one downside to the graphics – fixed cameras. There’s no questioning that this is one of the best looking games on the PS2, and it’s also noted for being a very bright game with lots of colors. You had giant interactive environments with lush locations that were based off Greek and Roman history, plus plenty of monsters and other creatures to encounter along the way. If you look at some of the screenshots below, you’ll see how great the graphics in this game were for the time period in which it came out. In the original Rygar game on the NES, all you did was attack with it. The implementation of the Diskarmor really takes the game above being just another action title. This makes for some really interesting scenarios when you are trying to figure your way out of an area. Rygar uses the Diskarmor to fight as well as to move, because he often has to swing from things or dangle over openings while using it like a grappling hook. It’s sort of like a bigger, deadlier version of a yo-yo, and in this game they are upgradeable. Rygar fights with what is called a Diskarmor. I played this game all the way to the end and didn’t have too much trouble defeating any of the bosses until I got to the last one. The boss battles can be quite challenging until you figure out the right time to strike, then they aren’t so bad. The story isn’t much to talk about, other than you having to fight your way through one location after another and taking out a boss before moving on to the next level. You will need quick reflexes to navigate your way around some of the puzzle-like obstacles that you encounter, though most of the combat is pretty basic. You won’t fight a very big variety of peon type monsters, and most of those encounters are a little too easy, so they do become monotonous. It is all presented in a third person perspective. This is a pretty well-done 3D action adventure game with the right balance of action mixed with exploration. The main thing this game has going for it are the gorgeous visuals, which were awesome on the PS2. The gameplay has some interesting aspects in terms of controls, and the boss fights can be quite challenging. It’s a far cry from the original Nintendo game, but still plenty of fun. Press start and you'll start at Ligar.Rygar: The Legendary Adventure is a retro remake for the PS2 that involves a Roman warrior on a quest to save a princess. If you did it correctly, you will fall back out the door, into a scrambled area and die. While fighting Belzar at the end of Lapis, stand to the left of the door and face left. NOTE: you can go through the floor like this. Hold down A and B to float slowly to the ground. If done right you should appear on top of the screen. Set the turbo to max and hold A and B at the same time. To do his you need a NES Advantage controller(others may work). For you might not be standing on solid ground when the screen scrolls over. The map gets pretty glitchy over here and you can end up dying if you to another screen, so always be sure you are jumping in mid-air should you choose to enter another area. From here, you can explore areas of Garloz that you're not supposed to be in. If you walk to the left again you'll be on top of the wall. Walk back to the left and you'll be on the wall, so hold up again and Rygar should walk up even more. Move to the right and press up on the next screen, Rygar should walk up a little bit. When you reach a dead end to where you can only move to the right which takes you to the next screen, hold up and get next to the dirt wall. From the first starting point, walk up and take a left, then walk up and take the right path when you come to the fork in the road. When you reach Garloz (the overhead view level), you can get on top of the grassy areas that normally aren't accessible. Explore inacessable areas and strange places in Garloz.
